Emoji Reactions Are Now Available in The Android Beta Version of Whats App.

WhatsApp rolls out emoji reactions in Android beta

Over two billion people worldwide use WhatsApp, a Meta-owned encrypted messaging service. According to WABetaInfo, a reputable source for information on upcoming WhatsApp features, emoji reactions are now available in WhatsApp’s Android beta version 2.22.8.3, making it easier for users to respond to incoming messages.

Emotional responses can be expressed using one of six emojis: thumbs up, heart, crying (often interpreted as sadness), laughter (often interpreted as a surprise), or folded hands (often interpreted as “thank you”). Unfortunately, we were unable to access the feature ourselves because it appears to be rolling out in stages on Android devices.

Emoji reactions are also expected to appear in the service’s iOS and desktop apps in the near future. Toggle control for “Reaction Notifications” has been available in WhatsApp‘s beta iOS app since early January, and a set of the same name appeared in the beta desktop app earlier this month.

As a result, emoji reactions have become commonplace in other messaging services like iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Google’s Messages app, and even Twitter Direct Messages. When it comes to messaging apps, WhatsApp has finally joined the fray.
