iPhone Production Won’t See a Big Impact From COVID-19 Lockdown Situation in China’s Shenzhen – New iPhone SE and iPad Air (2022)


Foxconn, Apple’s main supplier, announced that it had halted operations in Shenzhen until further notice.

According to JP Morgan analysts, Foxconn’s suspension of operations in the Chinese city of Shenzen, which is facing further limits to contain a COVID epidemic, will have little impact on Apple’s iPhone manufacturing.

Hon Hai Precision Industry, or Foxconn, Apple’s main supplier, said it had halted operations in Shenzhen until further notice and would deploy backup plants to minimize inconvenience.

“We estimate the impact of the Shenzhen lockout on iPhone EMS construction should be modest (up to 10% of global iPhone production),” analyst Gokul Hariharan wrote in a note dated Monday.

According to JP Morgan, the Shenzhen region accounts for less than 20% of Hon Hai’s overall iPhone production capacity, with the great bulk of assembly plants in Zhengzhou, an industrial and transportation hub.

Due to the restrictions, many facilities in China, including those owned by Toyota and Volkswagen, have been shut down.

The brokerage does not expect a restocking of components across the industry as a result of the production halts, but warns that lockdowns in the Shanghai region could be more disruptive.

It is expected that the lockout in Shenzhen, China’s Silicon Valley, will have little influence on semiconductor production, but that global LCD panel supply may be harmed.

iPad Pro and iPhone SE (2022)

The iPhone SE (2022) and iPad Air (2022) is currently available. Both of the new Apple products were presented last week during the company’s virtual event. The iPhone SE (2022) and iPad Air (2022) are minor updates to their predecessors. Apple’s A15 Bionic CPU and an enhanced rear camera are included in the iPhone SE (2022). Specifications for the iPhone SE (2022)

The iPhone SE (2022) has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 750×1,334 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. The display is identical to that of the iPhone SE (2020). However, there is an A15 Bionic chip beneath the hood that provides much-enhanced performance.

The new iPhone SE model has a single 12-megapixel camera sensor on the rear with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and better visual processing, according to Apple. Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, and Photographic Styles are among the features it supports. All of this is handled by the A15 Bionic chip, which features an innovative Neural Engine for software enhancements.

The iPhone SE (2022) has a front-facing 7-megapixel camera sensor with an f/2.2 lens for selfies and video chats.

The iPhone SE (2022) has a storage capacity of up to 256GB. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a Lightning port are among the connectivity possibilities. For biometric authentication, the Touch ID home button has a fingerprint sensor. On a single charge, the iPhone SE (2022) is said to provide up to 15 hours of movie playing or 50 hours of music playback.

Specifications for the iPad Air (2022)

The iPad Air (2022) has the same 10.9-inch LED Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2,360×1,640 pixels as the previous iPad Air model, same as the iPhone SE (2022). It does, however, include the M1 processor, which provides higher CPU and graphics performance than the previous-generation device.

The iPad Air (2022) features a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, which allows you to adapt the camera perspective for moving subjects while using FaceTime. The new iPad Air’s rear camera, on the other hand, is the same 12-megapixel Wide shooter as the previous generation.
