Speculation over what colors the iPhone 14 will come in was put to rest during Apple’s September 7 event, where it was formally introduced. Apple offered five iPhone 14 variants and four iPhone 14 Pro variants, each with its own set of additional features. The time has come for you to settle on the shade that best suits you.
In other words, you can’t afford to take your time with this choice. On Friday, September 9, preorders for the iPhone 14 will go live, and the devices themselves will hit shelves on Friday, September 16. iPhone 14 Plus, Apple’s latest 6.7-inch device, won’t be released until October 7.
If you’ve been keeping up with the speculations surrounding the iPhone 14, you already know that there will be a few additional color options available soon. After much speculation, Apple has announced a purple color option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. If you’ve used an iPhone before, you’ll recognize the other hues.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus Colors
The iPhone 14 Plus is Apple’s replacement for the mini models it has supplied for the past two years, and like the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini before it, it comes in the same array of colors as the standard 6.1-inch iPhone.
Moonlight (black), Starlight (white), Blue, Purple, and Product RED are the standard color options for the iPhone 14, and the iPhone 14 Plus adds a new color option in Product RED. The latter (which promotes fundraising and public awareness for medical crises)
There’s still blue on offer, though it’s more of a sky blue than the deeper blue of the iPhone 13. While purple is a new addition, it’s worth noting that Apple has previously provided a purple iPhone 12 color choice.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max Colors
True to rumors, the only new color option for the iPhone 14 Pro is purple. It is available with the tried-and-true gold, silver, and black in space.
Although both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come in purple, the purple on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is called “Deep Purple” by Apple.
iPhone 14 Colors: How Recent Models Compare
Having learned what the iPhone 14 colors are, we can now add them to the chart of current iPhone hues.
The following graphic does not reflect the addition of new iPhone color options by Apple after the device’s first release. This is not the first year that Apple has added a new color to one of its basic Pro models; in the spring of 2017 it was the iPhone 12, and the spring before that it was the iPhone 13.
Could anything similar happen with iPhone 14? If Apple decides to add more hues to the iPhone’s rainbow, we won’t know until 2023.
