One of the stars of the television series House of the Dragon, Paddy Considine, has spoken about his final scenes as “the finest character I’ve ever portrayed,” in his own words.
Viserysis, who plays a good man in practically all the awful situations, is regarded as the show’s heart. Unfortunately, he spent the majority of the season with deteriorating health due to an infection that would not go away.
The illness that caused what he called “leprosy” when on the West of Westeros gave his character a terrifying sense of impending death. In contrast to the majority of the fatalities that occurred in its predecessor, Game of Thrones, viewers were ready for this disaster. That did not, however, make things any easier.
On The Adam Buxton Podcast, the actor admitted that his wife had pleaded with him to just watch the end of the sequence because it had affected both his wife and daughter.
Paddy Considine Shared His Thoughts on The Final Episode of The Season:
Although my wife and daughter had watched episode 8 and were upset by it, I had not watched it. Just watch the conclusion, my wife advised. My father was diagnosed with cancer years ago, and from that point on, his condition deteriorated quickly until he was on the verge of death. You know, it happened so quickly.
Therefore, when [my wife] showed me that final item and my face appeared, I immediately started crying because I saw my dad’s image when he was dying, and it was shocking. I was absolutely stunned by that. I had incorporated so many traits from my mother into Viserys, but when I saw that, I mistakenly believed that it was my father, which was a scary concept. It had a significant impact, then. In my opinion, the King Viserys character from House of the Dragon is the best role I’ve ever taken on. The tale was accurate. The protagonist was correct.
The HBO fantasy epic series’ highly regarded first season ended earlier this year, and pre-production on the second season has already begun.
If you’ve been watching “Game of Thrones,” you may watch the prequel to learn more about the Targaryen family and the events that led to their downfall. Over 10 million people tuned in to watch the first season of The HOD, breaking HBO’s watching records.
The novel Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, which tells the story of the infamous and legendary Targaryen dynasty and the civil war that reduced their once-powerful family to ruin, served as the basis for the television series.
All eight seasons of Game of Thrones and the first season of House of the Dragon are currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
