Fans of France Mbappe Wins the “Golden Boot Award” for His Incredible World Cup Final Performance.!
Despite losing to Croatia in the World Cup final, Kylian Mbappe received FIFA’s Golden Boot for scoring the most goals overall.
He had two assists and scored a total of eight goals, including three versus Argentina, in the thrilling championship game played at Lusail Stadium on Sunday.
With seven goals and three assists, PSG teammate and Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi came in second.
Lionel Messi’s teammate Julian Alvarez finished third with five goals, while France’s Olivier Giroud was unable to add to his four goals after being substituted during the opening period of the final tournament.
Mbappe’s eight goals in Qatar are the most in a single World Cup tournament since Gerd Muller scored 10 goals in 1970 and Ronaldo scored 8 in 2002, but the forward will feel very little joy after France’s devastating defeat.
The 23-year-old and Argentina captain Messi, who was level with him on five goals going into Sunday’s game, engaged in an exciting competition. Messi and the younger player traded the lead two times.
After Ousmane Dembele was penalized for a foul on Angel Di Maria, Lionel Messi converted the spot-kick to score the game’s first goal and became the first player in World Cup history to reach 20 goal involvements. Then, Angel Di Maria completed a graceful move to give Argentina a 2-0 lead.
However, Mbappe was given the chance to re-enter the competition for first place in the goal-scoring standings with ten minutes left to go. Nicolas Otamendi successfully converted a penalty kick from the spot after being charged with a foul for tripping Randal Kolo Muani.
After a stunning 97 seconds of play, Mbappe took the lead in the race for the Golden Boot and separated himself from the competition. He then sent a first-time volley beyond Emiliano Martinez’s defense to force extra time. Mbappe has gained ground in the competition for the “Golden Boot” as a result of this goal.
Messi appeared to have reclaimed the honor and the championship for Argentina with a poke in extra time, but Mbappe responded with another penalty kick when Gonzalo Montiel was ruled to have handled the ball.
Mbappe currently owns the record for the most goals scored by a player in a World Cup final thanks to his goal in the 2018 World Cup final triumph over Croatia. Additionally, Mbappe’s 12 goals in the competition tie him for second place with three-time champion Pele.
Mbappe scored a hat trick in the championship match to become the second player in World Cup history to do it. The last person to complete this feat successfully was Geoff Hurst of England in 1966. Regardless of the outcome, he also conveyed his love for Mbappe:
Many congratulations to Mbappe, whatever happens. I’ve had a great run!

The following is how his ardent supporters show their love for him:
We are watching a major legend emerge, claimed French supporter Thierry Piquant.
We had no business losing. Mbappe was unjustly defeated. That performance will live on in memory always.

With his hat trick, Mbappe secured the Golden Boot award; he concluded the tournament in Qatar with a total of eight goals scored.
He gave it his all. On the field today, he was the best player. I am confident that Messi will be discussed widely. But Maurice Toussaint felt that he outperformed Messi tonight.
At the age of 23 years and 363 days, he became the youngest player to ever accomplish this feat when he scored one of his 10 World Cup goals at Lusail. He defeated the 242 days-old German players Gerd Muller.
Mbappe, who will only be 27 years old when the next World Cup begins, has already scored 11 goals in World Cup play, making him a scary opponent.
