To Defeat a Predator

To Catch a Predator is the title of the main article.

Hansen anchored a series of Dateline NBC reports under the title To Catch a Predator in collaboration with the website Perverted-Justice. Perverted-Justice volunteers pretended to be underage individuals (typically 13–15) in online chat rooms and consented to meet adults for sex. The gathering spots were “sting houses,” where NBC camera crews and, in later episodes, local cops awaited the possible sexual predator.

Dateline NBC launched three Tuesday night spin-offs of its original premise, based on the popularity of Hansen and his Predator investigations. Hansen anchored To Catch a Con Man and To Catch an I.D. Thief. To Catch a Predator: Protecting Your Kids from Online Enemies Already in Your Home was published in March 2007 in the United States.

What is Chris Hansen’s net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hansen is worth $1.5 million, which is the same as struggling celebrity parents Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott combined. Knowing Hansen was once a rising star on one of the world’s most popular television networks, this is tragic.

There’s a lesson here for aspiring television journalists: don’t think for a second that just because you’ve landed a rich job at a major network means you’re safe. If you’re not careful, you could lose everything, and if you become a liability, the same networks will have no problem cutting ties with you. Make an effort not to become one.
