Spoilers for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” ahead

The 2018 superhero movie Black Panther’s sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, finally arrived on November 11 after more than four years of anticipation. Fans are praising the movie and mourning the loss of Chadwick Boseman, the movie’s former lead actor, who tragically passed away in 2020 from colon cancer.

King T. Challa’s death is discussed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, along with how the Wakandan people are forced to deal with Namor as a new danger. There are several untied threads at the movie’s conclusion that leave room for a prospective sequel. But will there be a Black Panther 3? Here is what we currently know.

Will there be a Black Panther 3?

Fear not, since Marvel typically does not confirm the sequels right away after a movie is released. The third installment of the Black Panther franchise is still pending official confirmation from the studio. Even the release of Black Panther 2 came after more than a year since the first movie hit theatres.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s final message reads, “Wakanda Will Return,” making it very obvious that the plot will continue in an additional movie. Additionally, the movie’s producer and director have made hints about a future sequel.

There are many wonderful characters in our vast globe. Beyond what occurs in this movie, there are further chances to return to Wakanda. Let’s put it this way: there are plenty of ideas, according to producer Nate Moore.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, also disclosed that he and Black Panther 3 director Ryan Coogler exchanged ideas during their conversation.

Black Panther 3 Potential Release Date

There is currently no formal confirmation of the movie’s release date. Unfortunately, Black Panther 3 is not included in Marvel’s Phases 5 and 6, which go through 2026. As a result, we could have to wait until 2027 to explore the world of Wakanda once more.

In the following four years, the studio does have several open release dates: July 25, 2025; November 7, 2025; February 13, 2026; July 24, 2026; and November 6, 2026.

The first two Black Panther movies were separated by more than four years, but that period included a pandemic. So there’s a chance that Wakanda Forever will be available before or in 2026.

What to Expect from Black Panther 3?

There were various events in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that could have led to Black Panther 3. Namor predicts to his cousin Namora that the world would one day turn against Wakanda in order to obtain vibranium, which may or may not be the plot of the third movie.

In the post-credits scene, Prince T Challa—a new character—is brought to Shuri. He is the son of King T Challa and Nakia. The character’s role in the MCU’s overarching storyline might be the subject of the next movie.

At the end of the movie, M Baku also runs for the position of new King of Wakanda, which could spark another possible plot.

All of the principal actors, including Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, and Danai Gurira as Okoye, are anticipated to return.

In the follow-up, Winston Duke could play M’Baku, Tenoch Huerta could play Namor, Michaela Coel could play Aneka, and Mabel Cadena could play Namora. Given that Black Panther 2 ends with the death of her character Ramonda, Angela Basset’s comeback is doubtful.
