The respiratory syncytial virus hospitalized Amy Schumer’s 3-year-old son last week (RSV). Gene, the comic’s kid with her husband Chris Fischer, was initially brought to the emergency room but is now recording at home, the comedian has disclosed.
The season’s Saturday Night Live host, Amy Schumer, stated on Instagram that her son’s health concern forced her to skip last Thursday’s rehearsals for the show. Continue reading to learn more about the change.
Amy Schumer s Son Gene Hospitalized with RSV
The actress from the movie Trainwreck revealed on November 6 on Instagram that the previous week was the most difficult moment of her life. This was the hardest week of my life, she wrote. My son was rushed to the ER and hospitalized for RSV on Thursday, so I had to skip the rehearsals. Salutations to all the parents who are now going through this.
RSV is a contagious illness, and most people who have it experience flu-like symptoms.
For newborns and the elderly, it can, however, become dangerous, particularly when those affected already have co-morbidities. The virus can cause pneumonia by infecting the lungs, which makes it difficult for infants to breathe.

The sickness can spread through coughs and sneezes in the air, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 58,000 kids under the age of five are hospitalized every year as a result of the illness.
Gene is Now Recovering at Home
Schumer added that her son is now feeling better and has been released from the hospital. I had the opportunity to spend the entire day with him at the hospital, and the lovely people at @nbcsnl couldn’t have been more helpful. She said that her son was recovering at home.
The comedian stated, “The reason this show is so fun to do isn’t actually the performance or the show itself.” The comic praised the Saturday Night Live cast and staff for their support.
Spending time with the locals is a benefit. Of course, the actors and writers are my favorites, but I also like the crew members who keep everything running smoothly. The team!
Jerry, Donna, and Jodi. Genna. Tom Wally, and so forth. The most accomplished individuals with the kindest hearts have been assembled by Lorne. Thank you to everyone who was there as well as the nurses and doctors who assisted us, said Schumer.
Schumer s Friends Send their Wishes for the Toddler
Friends and industry colleagues of the comic submitted comments along with well wishes and prayers for Gene’s health. Sophia Bush, an actress, wrote: I’m very relieved that the youngster is safe and that you were supported by your loved ones.
John Forte, a musician, said, “Wellness to the little dude.”
You did a terrific job last night. Amy received appreciation from author Jessica Seinfeld, who said, “Proudest of you on Thursday then I have ever been.” while you were melting from stress and terror, treating every nurse and doctor with warmth.
You obviously chose to spend the day with Gene rather than attending SNL practice, but you still managed to nail it last night.
You blow me away as always,” she continued.
