George Shinn Car Collection – A Classic Car Collection to Look Into 2022

George Shinn Car Collection - George Shinn Has A Classic Collection to Show Off in 2022

George’s father died when he was eight years old in Kannapolis, North Carolina, and he and his mother lost everything. Despite the fact that he grew up impoverished, he is always quick to point out how wealthy he was. “Thanks to my mother’s hard work and some assistance from Uncle Sam and others, my mother and I were able to live.”

Because I received free lunches, I was one of the students who ate at school. But mom compensated for our lack of material riches by giving me the gift of faith. Her faith was so strong that she taught me to believe in God and in me every day. You have everything you need in life when you have that deep in your heart.”

George struggled with his initial employment in a carwash, a bakery, and a textile mill after graduating at the bottom of his high school class. He, on the other hand, never ceased believing. He learned about Evans Business College in Concord, North Carolina, and decided to enroll in order to boost his prospects of success. He not only graduated but also went on to own the school, creating the country’s largest network of business schools. For his achievements as a young entrepreneur, he received the Horatio Alger Award.

He didn’t stop there, though, and went on to start multiple more businesses over his illustrious business career, ending in 1987 as the founding owner of the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA, which he brought to the Carolinas against all odds. In 2011, he sold the franchise after relocating it to New Orleans.

George Shinn Career

George has been a great believer in the notion of “paying it forward” since the beginning of his career. In 1973, he took the daring step of establishing the George Shinn Foundation to assist those in need and to further God’s Kingdom. More than four decades later, the foundation is still true to its objective, having built and sponsored a clinic in Haiti, developed a ministerial retreat center, and supported a variety of other ministries, events, and scholarships.

George’s books include The Miracle of Motivation, The American Dream Still Works, and, of course, You Gotta Believe! His newest book, All Things Are Possible, will be released in 2015.

George continues to speak at churches and business gatherings, and he continues to devote his time and resources to his foundation. George Shinn lives in Franklin, Tennessee, and is the president of the George Shinn Foundation.

The eclectic collection will be auctioned off at the GAA Classic Cars auction this summer.

A 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S and a 1970 Mercedes 280SL are among the vehicles in the George Shinn collection, which also includes some exceptional Ford Galaxies, Bel Airs, and Mustangs.

Shinn is primarily known for founding the Charlotte Hornets in 1988 and then relocating the franchise to New Orleans in 2002. His passion for automobiles began when he was a child cleaning cars at his father’s Gulf service station. With “a little over a hundred cars” in his collection, the self-proclaimed gearhead claims he’s out of the room, which is why he’s delivering these cars to new owners.

Shinn, like any other collector, has bought automobiles from all of the big auction houses, but he says he feels “more at ease, comfort, and trust” with GAA Classic Cars for this collection.

“GAA Classic Cars is a good-hearted organization. They have a history with automobiles, they know what they’re doing, and they understand what people like and desire, therefore they satisfy that requirement “Shinn remarked.
